Book, Music, Lyrics and Direction

Martha is a freelance theatre director, specialising in musical theatre, youth theatre and new work. She has experience in direction, assistant directing, theatre facilitation and also works and has trained a musician, often bringing these two art forms together in her work. She has assistant direction credits from the European Theatre Convention (Pupatko, 2023) working in Slovakia on a piece of theatre for babies under three years old and from a touring show with New Perspectives Theatre Company (Model Village, 2023). She has also directed and assistant directed performances at Buxton Opera House (Reimagine, 2022 & Matilda Jr., 2022) as well as working with the National Youth Music Theatre in a production of 'Ragtime' (2022). Her music credits include musical direction at Loughborough Town Hall and being the Conduction Scholar 2023-24 at the University of Warwick. She has a First-Class BA degree from the University of Hull in Music, Theatre & Performance.

Nicki Morley

Book Writer

Nicki is a playwright, poet and director based in Nottinghamshire. Having just completed two years with the Nottingham Playhouse's Homegrown program, previous works include 'A Day in the Life of Roxie Ellison'- writer, director (2022) and Deathin' -director (2023) both performed in the Nottingham Playhouse Neville Studio. Nicki is also starting out on a variety of new projects including Medusa: Reloaded, directed and produced by Chronic Insanity. Nicki's work often focuses on women's stories, as well as adaptations of mythological or historical works. Fairies on the Underground is the first book Nicki has written for a musical, but with themes well within her wheelhouse and an enthusiasm for the concept, she excited about the challenge this collaborative work offers her.

Aaron Green

Music and Sound Designer

Aaron Green is a composer and jazz musician, originally from Leicester, now based in Hull. Having completed both his Undergraduate Study in Music Production, specialising in film scoring, and Master's in Music, focussing on jazz piano and composition, at the University of Hull and has been active in the Hull music scene for the last couple of years. He is currently teaching on the Music Undergraduate course at the University of Hull alongside playing in several local bands. In his free time, he is constantly on the lookout for new opportunities to further his experience and knowledge in the industry as a composer, performer, teacher, or studio/sound engineer. Aaron's playing and compositional styles can be traced through areas of contemporary jazz all the way into the realms of film scoring and musical theatre. On this musical, Aaron hopes to further his compositional style by incorporating more electronic elements in his work.

Gemma Caseley-Kirk

Set and Costume Designer

Gemma works as a freelance designer and actor based in the east midlands. She studied design at Nottingham Trent University, graduating with an exceptional 1st & won the ‘Nottingham Playhouse Prize’ 2020. She also trained at the BAFTA award winning Television Workshop. This is where she met her fellow members of the comedy company ‘Major Labia’ who she writes, performs and designs for. Most recently they have created BFI short film ‘Witches. Gemma enjoys both design and performance equally and feels the skills gained from both crafts complement and influence each other in her work in a unique way. Initially producing work predominantly for theatre, Gemma has recently started creating designs for projects in film, photography and festivals.

MARY BONAM

Fairy - Summer

Mary is a Midlands born and based Actor, Vocalist and Puppeteer. She has a passion for regional theatre and new writing and Musical Theatre.

Prev credits include: 'The Owl Who Came for Christmas' for Curve Theatre - Cara Nolan, 'Critical Care' (R&D) - Orla O'Connor, 'Fools Gold' for Curve Theatre - Samson Hawkins, 'Rocketfuel' for Little Earthquake -Gareth Nicolls, 'Treasure Island' for Leicester Haymarket Theatre - Matthew Forbes, A Vision Of Elvis - National Tour, The Adele Songbook - National and International tour, Goldman Sachs X Campaign- commercial.

Mary also works as a Creative mentor, facilitator and is a trained teacher working with regional theatres such as The Curve and Derby Theatre - Plus One. New Perspectives New Associate 2023/24 and an arts council funded theatre maker for an 2023 R&D of a new show for children and their care givers and a DYCP recipient 2024/25 for further exploring puppetry.

LULU FRENETT

Fairy- Spring

Lulu is a freelance actor musician, specialising in musical theatre, pantomime and clown. After finishing her degree in Music and Theatre at the University of Hull, she continues to train and perform internationally before coming back to the UK touring professional theatre shows, most recently Pinocchio (Talegate Theatre). Lulu is committed to making more accessible theatre practices for both the audience and the creatives, especially with mental health. She emphasises a healthy creative space as this hasn't always been the case in our industry.

ABIGAIL PIDGEON

Fairy - Winter

Abigail is an actor and singer based in Nottingham; she graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in September 2018 with an MA in Acting. Since graduating, Abigail has developed and nurtured her industry connections in the Midlands. She performed alongside Vicky McClure in Sirloin Films’ ‘Good Grief’ and last year played the role of Frankie in the R&D of ‘Critical Care’ written by Stacey Moon-Tracy. Abigail is also proud of her relationship with Copper Studios (an award-winning theatre school in Nottingham) and is currently one of their resident acting tutors. Most recently, she played Holly/Jill in New Perspectives' rural tour of ‘Model Village’; a show she felt incredibly privileged to be cast in as part of New Perspectives 50th anniversary year. Abigail is thrilled to be working with Martha Kent again and can't wait to begin this R&D process.

MISCHA JARDINE

Lola

Mischa is a classically trained singer and cellist. Having spent her last four years in Cardiff, training at the Royal Welsh a college of Music and Drama, she has performed all over the UK and Europe. During her musical studies she took some time to study abroad and focus on her acting training at the Fontainebleau School of Acting. She is an advocate for actormusicians and has since taken part in professional productions such as 101 Dalmatians (Regents Park) and The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe (Birmingham REP). Mischa also has a love of recording music for jazz, pop and folk artists as well as developing her own compositions. She describes herself as a creator and maker, and loves to sprinkle joy into any creative realm.

MEGAN GOLDSTRAW

Fairy - Autumn

Megan is a performer and creative based in Nottingham. She has over 10 years experience in stage and screen acting, is a member of The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, and has recently trained with the Nottingham Playhouse and The Actors Workshop Nottingham. She has been involved in a very wide range of productions over the last few years including musicals, plays, immersive theatre, workshops, short films, and most recently a touring pantomime visiting schools in the South West with Rainbow Theatre London. Despite taking a Chemistry degree, she performed extensively during her time at the University of Nottingham with Nottingham New Theatre and Musicality. Some of her favourite roles include Olive in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Thea in Spring Awakening. She is especially passionate about female-led creative projects and developing new work in a collaborative and open way so is very excited to be involved with this project.
